A growing collection of the various Revelations books of the first few centuries. Many of these books competed with others for a place in the western Bible. Revelations are, typically, mystical works telling a story of inspired revelations given to its author. It must be mentioned that not every book attributed to the named author was written by that author. The only way we know this is by dating the books in terms of when they first appeared in references, and by studying the context in which they originated--most of these books, like most of the New Testament books, originate many years after its attributed author has died.
